walking
Being within 5 minutes walking distance of two National Trails, The Thames Path and The Ridgeway, Chaddleworth is easily accessible by foot at the end of a day’s walking. You can use us as a base to access a wide stretch of The Thames Path or The Ridgeway, either using the train to get to your next destination or we can organise transport by prior arrangement.
Alternatively there are many walks in the local area of differing lengths and abilities providing a wonderful ‘get away’ from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Walking on the flat beside the Thames or venturing into the hills for a little more exertion – all offering good views and lovely countryside, and can be as physically demanding as you want. Goring and Streatley lie within three designated areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
the local villages
There are four pubs, five restaurants and two cafes within easy walking distance. The village of Goring has interesting, individual shops and is a delightful area in which to spend a couple of hours watching the boats on the river, having a coffee and letting the world pass you by.
